How to Lighten Dark Underarms

Most women may find that they have dark armpits and the cause can be from bacteria left behind after using deodorant  Using natural home remedies can help eliminate darkness and whiten the area under your arms.

There are numerous treatments to this problem. Bleaching creams for the underarms are sold in drugstores. Many clinics and spa centers also offer bleaching and whitening treatments for the underarms.

There are various products available in the market that promises to lighten dark underarms but one should always check the ingredients before purchasing any over-the-counter creams.

You should completely avoid ingredients such as Hydroquinone, mercury and steroids because these constituents can cause various deadly diseases such as liver damage, leukemia and thyroid problems.

However, if you are looking for cost-effective treatments, try the following home remedies:

One of my favorite choices is lemon juice and baking soda, just add to a small container and mix until it is a paste. Then apply to the underarm area, pat dry and wipe clean. you will want to repeat this several times a week until you see a lighter shade of skin.

Underarm skin can be treated with a buffing pad while in the shower to remove excess dirt buildup.  Shaving and waxing of hair may cause irritation so if you think you may have razor bumps wait until this has subsided before trying any home remedies.

Raw potatoes are excellent for removing dark spots, the natural juice helps remove colorization. Fresh tomatoes can be used for this purpose also.

Keep the underarms clean and dry also to reduce odor use baking soda, just add water until it is creamy and apply generously to the area.

Wear loose fitting blouses to help from keeping the fabric from rubbing against your skin. You can also apply talcum powder each week.
